
Welcome to my personal website. My name is Jordy Davelaar, a theoretical astrophysicist at Columbia University and the Flatiron Institute in New York. My main research interest is modeling the electromagnetic radiation emitted from the direct environment of supermassive black holes. I am a member of the Event Horizon Telescope Collaboration.
I obtained my dr. degree at Radboud University on the 24th of August 2020. During my Ph.D. program, I spend half a year at the Flatiron Institutes Center of Computational Astrophysics in NY.
