Welcome to my personal website. I am Jordy Davelaar, a Research Fellow at the Flatiron Institute’s Center for Computational Astrophysics and an Associate Research Scientist at Columbia University in New York. My main research interest is modeling the electromagnetic radiation emitted from the direct environment of supermassive black holes. I am a member of the Event Horizon Telescope Collaboration and an associate member of the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna Consortium.
I obtained my Ph.D. at Radboud University on the 24th of August 2020. During my Ph.D. program, I spend half a year at the Flatiron Institutes Center of Computational Astrophysics in NY.
